Rowan Williams, who is the Archbishop of Canterbury will be performing the long anticipated wedding ceremony at the Westminster Abbey. There is going to be a reception held by Prince Williams grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II at the palace directly following the ceremony. In addition to this reception, Prince Williams father, Prince Charles, will be hosting a dinner and dance party later that same evening. This party is to be only for those who are either close friends or relatives of Prince William and Kate Middleton and is to be also held at Buckingham Palace.

Although it has not yet been confirmed, the couple will probably make a traditional, brief appearance as newly-weds on the balcony of the palace after the wedding ceremony. Breaking tradition, Prince William and Kate have decided that they will travel to Westminster Abbey in a car rather than in the royal carriage. They will only ride in the traditional royal carriage after they have become newly-weds.

The royal carriage ride back to the palace will provide many people a chance to see Prince William and Kate. The ride will take place along Horse Guards Parade and The Mall.

As many as 2,000 guests will be attending the Kate Middleton wedding where the Bishop of London, Richard Chartres will be conducting the sermon. Bishop Chartres counselled Prince William when his mother, Princess Diana, tragically died in 1997.

Prince William, who is 28, and Kate, who just turned 29 had dated for eight years before they finally announced their engagement just this last November of 2010.
